FRANKFURT, Germany (AP) — A German YouTuber confessed to having arrived on the field during the Euro Cup opening ceremony dressed as a mascot, an incident that revealed flaws in the tournament’s security.

Marvin Wildhage posted a video that appears to show him entering the Munich stadium last Friday in a costume and dancing in the corner of the field before being escorted by a member of UEFA staff.

UEFA said in a statement: “We can confirm that there was an incident at the match in Munich between Germany and Scotland. Three people have gained unauthorized access. “After evaluating the situation, necessary measures have been taken and the three people have been prohibited from entering the stadiums that host Euro 2024 matches.”

Wildhage made fake submissions for the tournament by copying the design of photos posted on social media by Euro 2024 employees which failed scanning at the Allianz Arena entrance, but he convinced a security guard with a parking pass. according to what is shown in the video.

Wildhage was stopped by security and held until well after Germany’s 5-1 victory over Scotland.
