ANAHEIM,. California, USA (AP) – Dominican Freddy Peralta struck out eight in six innings of three-hit ball and outpitched Tyler Anderson as the Milwaukee Brewers won 2-0 on Wednesday. the Los Angeles Angels.
Rhys Hoskins and Willy Adames each drove in runs for Milwaukee, which won two of three games against Anaheim to open its tour of Southern California.
Peralta (5-4) rebounded from the previous week’s poor outing against Cincinnati with a strong performance against the underpowered Angels. Although he walked a couple and didn’t look particularly effective, Peralta was able to solve the problems.
The Angels put two runners in scoring position in the sixth inning, but Peralta retired Logan O’Hoppe with a grounder up the middle of the diamond on his last pitch.
Trevor Megill recorded his 15th save of the season.
Anderson (6-7) gave up a run but fell.
For the Brewers, the Venezuelans William Contreras 4-1, Jackson Chourio 4-1. The Dominicans Adames 2-1 with an RBI, Gary Sánchez 3-1.
