Movistar Team announces the team that will support Enric Mas in the Tour

ANDl Movistar Team announced the team with which it will start this Saturday, June 29, from Florence, in the 111th edition of the Tour de France. With Enric Mas, as leader of the ranks, they will also be the recent Spanish road champion, Álex AranburuOier Lazkano, Fernando Gaviria, Davide Formolo, Nelson Oliveira, Gregor Mühlberger and Javier Romo.

YesRémi Cavagna has been left out. The Frenchman, this year’s signing, was counting on going to the Tour. A few days ago, in an interview with L’Equipe’, mHe showed his displeasure with how the season was going with his new team: “I didn’t think the transition from Quick-Step to Movistar would be so difficult. I didn’t see things like that. I came to the team to progress and I feel like I have taken a step back in just a few months. I’m not even ready to finish in the top 50 of the Tour of Belgium,” said Cavagna.

He also focused on his problems with the language: “I have improved my Spanish, they have given me classes and I understand almost everything, but when I want to express myself a little or impose myself, it cuts me off. The Spanish are always together, everything on the radio is in Spanish and that is complicated in difficult moments of the race. I admit, it’s complicated.”

On the opposite side of Cavagna, there is Javier Romo, who in his first year at Movistar is among the eight chosen to run the Tour de France. Chente García Acosta, Max Sciandri, Pablo Lastras and Iván Velasco will lead the team in the Tour that will end on July 21 in Nice.
