Of the successive duels in the first years of the Copa América, the confrontations between the Bicolor and the Albiceleste have not been so successive in the current millennium because they were paired in different draws.
The last precedent occurred in the 2007 Copa América when Colo Basile’s Argentina beat Julio César Uribe’s Peru 4-0 with a double from Juan Román Riquelme and goals from Lionel Messi and Javier Mascherano.
