Given the possible absence of Jhon Lucumí due to the discomfort that kept him out during the first minutes of the match, the tricolor would now be facing a new loss for the match against the Ticos.
Initial reports suggest that the centre-back will miss not only this match, but also the group stage finale against Brazil, and could return if the quarter-finals are played.
Now, Rafael Santos Borré is doubtful for the national squad, due to an ankle injury that he is suffering, so he will not have the opportunity to be on the field this Friday, June 28.
“I have been informed that “La Máquina” Rafael Santos Borré, still has a swollen ankle and is in doubt for the game against Costa Rica,” wrote journalist Ricardo Arce on his official X account, formerly Twitter.
Given the possible absence of Borré, some names come to light that would replace him, such as Jhon Córdoba, Jhon Durán or Miguel Ángel Borja himself, who has had outstanding performances in Argentine soccer.
For now, the Colombian Football Federation has not commented on the possible absences due to injury that the national team has for the duel against Costa Rica. It is expected that in the next few hours, with the confirmation of the starting eleven, these absences will be made official or ruled out.
