SEATTLE — Cal Raleigh drove in the winning run with a fielder’s choice in the 10th inning, and the Seattle Mariners beat the Minnesota Twins 3-2 on Friday night.

Raleigh hit an infield grounder to Twins reliever Cole Sands (2-1), who threw home to try to prevent JP Crawford from scoring. His shot was high so Crawford arrived safely.

It was the fourth clutch play of Raleigh’s career, and his second of the season.

The rally culminated what began as a pitchers’ duel. Minnesota’s Bailey Ober and Mariners starter Logan Gilbert pitched well to start.

Ober faced the minimum number of batters before issuing a pair of walks to the Mariners in the fourth inning, and Gilbert allowed three runs in the first five innings.

The Mariners scored first in the bottom of the fifth inning when Mitch Haniger walked with two out and scored on Josh Rojas’ double to make it 1-0.

Puerto Rican Carlos Correa put the Twins ahead with a two-run homer off Gilbert in the sixth.

Gilbert allowed four hits and two earned runs in six innings with three strikeouts, while Ober allowed one run on two hits in a performance that included three walks and nine strikeouts.

For the Twins, Puerto Ricans Carlos Correa was 2 for 4 with one run scored and two RBIs, Willi Castro was 1 for 3 with one run scored and José Miranda was 1 for 4. Dominican Manuel Margot 4-1.

For the Mariners, Dominicans Jorge Polanco 4-1 and Julio Rodríguez 5-1.
