Pecco Bagnaia, who led FP1 of the Dutch Grand Prix on Friday (1.32.401) and broke the track record in the afternoon in Practice (1.31.340), was once again the fastest this Saturday morning in FP2, the last free practice session of the weekend before qualifying and the sprint race, which will start at three in the afternoon.

Behind the Italian finished Maverick Viñales, the first among the mortals on the time sheet this weekend and, right now, the top favorite to accompany Pecco on the podium, leaving the door open for third place, for which they are running several drivers, including Pedro Acosta, who managed to climb to the third fastest time and who will rely on everything to be able to go from Q1 to Q2 and get a good starting line.

Marc Márquez was fourth, just ahead of Jorge Martín, who suffered a lot yesterday but remains in the top positions.

The session started with an absolutely unexpected situation that has rarely been seen, if not at all. A notice from Race Direction appeared on the screens of Marc Márquez’s motorcycle, asking him to return to the box due to a problem. The pilot could quickly be seen touching his left knee, where there was no usual slide that pilots use to rest their leg on the ground. In fact, Márquez did not have that defense on any of his legs, so he had to return to the box and put them on before going out on the track normally.

With 12 minutes left, another setback forced a red flag that momentarily stopped the session, as there were stones in the middle of turn 7. At that point Marco Bezzecchi had fallen first, leaving a lot of gravel on the asphalt, which caused immediately a high-speed fall by Raúl Fernández, who hit the escape area hard. Fortunately, the Madrid native, directly qualified for Q2, was able to return to the box on his own without, apparently, any physical problems. Bezzecchi also returned to the box without physical problems, but in his case the bike was badly damaged and he will have to face the attempt to advance to Q2 with a single prototype.
