Apple plans to redesign its iPhone 16 line with new formats, dimensions and a small detail on the back

Apple’s iPhone 16 series will feature a more than acceptable amount of design changes. The company has been harshly criticized by its detractors due to the lack of innovation in its continuous iPhone design over the last few years. Perhaps for this reason, Apple intends to change its strategic direction with the iPhone 16 generation.
Let us remember that Apple will increase the screen dimensions of the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max using a new 6.3″ and 6.9″ format for the first time in many years. Additionally, it is rumored that the iPhone 16 could undergo a historic change with haptic buttons that would replace physical buttons.
On the other hand, today we were able to discover through a French website called ShopSystem that Apple plans to incorporate another design change on the back that is, to say the least, interesting. We are talking about MagSafe wireless charging system ring. Let’s see what this is about!

The molds of the new iPhone 16 reveal design changes
From ShopSystem have been made with some iPhone 16 molds which reveal a slight design change to the MagSafe charging ring on the back of the phones. As the photographs seem to suggest, the iPhone 16 MagSafe ring will be visibly thinner.
Apple has managed to considerably reduce the thickness of the MagSafe ring As you can see in the following photo comparison between the molds of the iPhone 15 Pro and the iPhone 16 Pro.
The iPhone 16 Pro’s MagSafe ring is much thinner
Perhaps this small design change in the iPhone 16 is due to the arrival of the new Qi2 wireless charging standard with greater charging power, whose foundations are based on MagSafe.
MagSafe technology was introduced with the launch of the iPhone 12 and offers a wireless charging system with magnetic coupling. In such a way that it is possible to attach accessories such as cases, wallets or external batteries to the back of the device as well as place it on charging bases with a magnetic system.
Additionally, it is worth noting that the iPhone 16 line will also have other small design tweaks to its camera module. The lenses will be slightly larger and the base iPhone 16 models will feature a vertically oriented camera module. Until now, the latest iPhone models had a camera module arranged diagonally.
Apple will launch its iPhone 16 line on the market in September 2024. But first, the company plans to introduce new iPad models at a special event that will take place next May 7th.
