The Vobot Mini Dock is now in the crowdfunding phase on Kickstarter. The accessory combines a 7-in-1 docking station with a 2-inch 320 x 240 px IPS display and is designed to help you work more efficiently. With 23 days left, the campaign has over 700 backers, surpassing its funding goal of 5,000 Swiss dollars (~$3,700) to raise over 80,000 Swiss dollars (~$59,000).

The ports on the Vobot Mini Dock include HDMI 4K@60Hz, USB-C uplink with 90W PD charging, Gigabit Ethernet, three USB 3.0 for peripherals, and one 100W PD input. There are a wide range of apps for the Mini Dock, offering features such as a Pomodoro timer, integration with the Todoist app, PC hardware performance, weather forecasts, and stock information. There’s also a game emulator for retro titles like Tetris and a “Now Playing” mode if you’re listening to music. Apps can be downloaded through a dedicated store, and you can code your own with MicroPython. Additionally, the screen may mirror or enlarge that of your computer, depending on the operating system of the connected device.

According to Vobot, the Mini Dock is compatible with Windows macOS, Linux, iOS, iPadOS, and Android devices. At the time of writing, the minimum pledge tier, Early Bird, is priced at S$75 (~$55), 21% off the MSRP of S$93 (~$69). The company is shipping the product worldwide, with delivery currently estimated for July 2024. It should be noted that participating in crowdfunding campaigns is a risk, as receipt of the product is not guaranteed. Another factor to take into account is that this is Vobot’s first Kickstarter project.
