The HUAWEI XMAGE Awards 2024, the annual competition celebrating Huawei’s open platform for smartphone photography excellence, was also officially launched during the exhibition’s opening ceremony. Now in its eighth consecutive year, the competition aims to inspire consumers to unleash their creativity and imagination by leveraging Huawei’s leading XMAGE imaging technology, infusing each photograph with deeper emotional and cultural resonance.
“A moving world: 12 years of Huawei photography”
The exhibition, which debuts under the theme “A Moving World,” displays nearly 300 photographs taken with Huawei smartphones, selected from millions of submissions. These images show moments of warmth, tranquility and brilliance from all corners of the world, as well as the genuine relatability of ordinary people, and summarize HUAWEI XMAGE’s new brand philosophy, “The Power of Image.” The philosophy aims to ignite consumers’ imagination, creativity and appreciation with supreme imaging experiences and technology, showcasing its powerful impact beyond what is captured.
The last decade has been a period of rapid development for mobile photography. This exhibition features works from the smartphone series Huawei the last 12 years. The exhibition explores eight different themes: “The secrets of Mother Nature” “Landscapes and spaces” “A dialogue with animals” “The story of life” “You and I” “The joy of sport” “The power of moments” and “The world of youth”.

HUAWEI XMAGE Awards 2024: Inspiring inspirations, world-leading photography culture
The HUAWEI XMAGE Awards 2024 officially began during the opening ceremony of the exhibition. As an open platform for smartphone photography excellence, the annual competition encourages the use of unique perspectives and unlimited creativity to give mobile photography deeper artistic meaning and aesthetic expression. Since 2017, users from more than 170 countries and regions have participated in the annual contest, contributing nearly 4 million entries to date. This makes the HUAWEI XMAGE Awards its own cultural heritage, containing fragments of human history from global perspectives.
