Thus, the technology company has launched the ‘Selfie GIFs’ function in the beta version of Google Messages, with which users will be able to record a video in ‘selfie’ format with a duration of up to 3 seconds, which will be shared as a message in mode. of GIFs.

As the company has detailed on the Google Messages website, this feature allows you to respond to friends’ messages with a ‘selfie’ in a simpler, as well as personal, way. “Show your best face and record your video. If you like what you see, Share it with your friends!” Google shared.

To make a ‘selfie’ video GIF, you must press and hold the camera icon in the chat to which you want to send the GIF. Thus, a countdown will appear on the screen so that the user can prepare and, after that, the recording with the smartphone’s front camera will begin and will end automatically three seconds later.

Once the recording is made, just click send to send it as a message in GIF format. As detailed by Google on its support page, these ‘selfie’ GIFs can also be recorded by tapping a message in the conversation. Likewise, recordings can be carried out manually by pressing a red button and can be redone by clicking on the restart icon.

Currently, ‘selfie’ videos in GIF format are available in the latest Beta version of the Google Messages application, available on Google Play.
