Concern has generated among experts a geological fault in the Himalayaswhich, eventually, could generate serious consequences on the planet.
This, then, would have been ignoring the fact that the formation of the Asian mountain range occurred after the collision of two tectonic plates thousands of years ago, which was recently discovered.

While the majesty of the Himalayas is impressive, the magnitude of its risk is worth paying attention to. Specifically, the discovery establishes that in the tectonic plates that divide the Asian continent, in the Tibet area, there is a tear and delamination of the literferixus mantle.
In simple terms, if there were a collision between both parties, the Hindu region would fragment. Although tectonic plates can break vertically, on this occasion the breaks that have occurred have been across the width, which is atypical and could be of a serious.

According to experts and those who published this research, the fault has been progressing significantly, which could translate into more earthquakes.
In that sense, an important factor to highlight is that the Tibetan plateau is supported by a plate in its superficial part and what is sinking is the lower part of it, which is 33 kilometers deep.
In turn, the research group is studying whether the Indian plate is submerging under the Eurasian plate or if it gathers over time and sinks into the Earth’s mantle.
“We were not aware that continents could behave in this way and that has fundamental implications for those who study solid Earth,” he said. Douwe van Hinsbergengeodynamicist at Utrecht University and one of the authors of the study.
