The Raspberry Pi is an SBC (Single Board Computer) well known for its great capabilities, compact design and affordable price. It has a huge community today and we have seen incredible designs based on this little board.

Boxes to install this small plate have become popular on the Internet. They come in different designs and capacities, some include space for an M.2 SSD. But, let’s face it, none are as classy as what Fractal Design showed during Computex 2024.

Fractal surprises with a case for the Raspberry Pi

Manufacturer Fractal Design is known within the industry for offering PC cases with exquisite designs. They are not chassis for all users, they are already characterized by being Premium and have quite high prices.

During the Taiwan event, it showed the smallest version of the Fractal Design North to date. This chassis is quite recognizable, above all, for its wooden slat front that gives it a very elegant appearance. The most compact version, very similar to its older sister, is designed to house a Raspberry Pi.

It is still, in design, very similar to the version to house systems focused on gaming. It combines wood, metal and tempered glass to house a Raspberry. It is something very striking and, as expected, has not gone unnoticed at all at this technology fair that is ending.

It is not the first time we have seen a case for the Pi’s that has a design similar to a gaming PC tower. The models we have seen usually adopt a more striking aesthetic, including RGB lighting. Also, some models aim to emulate the cases of mini PCs, but in this case, an elegant design has been chosen.

Factal currently offers the North and North XL boxes, where materials prevail with a sober and very elegant design. The version for the Raspberry maintains the aesthetics and design, with wooden bars on the front, methacrylate sides and a grille-type rear panel with large holes for good air flow. Some small licenses have been taken to adapt the design, but essentially, they are practically the same.

A mini me Fractal North for Raspberry Pi systems?

This box would even have space to install two 40 mm fans and thus improve the cooling of the SBC. The truth is that in the images we have seen they are not shown, you simply see the board with the standard configuration.

Fractal Design indicates that they do not intend to mass produce this chassis. Possibly, they just wanted a hook to gain more visibility, which they have clearly achieved. The truth is that we hope they end up changing their minds, because it is so pretty that we would want it even without the Raspberry to decorate our desk.
