Over the years Assassin’s Creed has been a saga recognized for its attention to historical details, to the level that the recreation of Notre Dame from Assassin’s Creed Unity helped rebuild the real cathedral after the fire that affected the building in 2019 .This is why theThe architectural impressions seen in the Assassin’s Creed Shadows trailer left no one indifferent, to the level that the game director had to come out to clarify the situation.

It was in last month’s trailer that Internet users noticed thate some of the architectural elements presented were not in accordance with the period in which the game takes place, which corresponds to Feudal Japan. Part of the criticism pointed to the tatami mats presented in a scene where Oda Nobunaga can be seen and that they would not have the correct shape (1 minute 21 seconds).

Given this, the game directorCharles Benoit, decided to clarify things by pointing out that “As for the tatami, I think they are correct in the final game”, while adding that “We have been working with experts in Japan since the first day of development.”

As explained in an interview with Game Watch (Via GamesRadar), the team even has been collaborating with Ubisoft’s Japanese divisions in Tokyo and Osaka.

“We always try to correct errors as much as possible,” Benoit closed.

Developed by Ubisoft Quebec, Assassin’s Creed Shadows is scheduled for release on November 15.
