Noctua creates a huge heatsink for the Nvidia GH200 “Grace Hopper” accelerator

Noctua was present at Computex to show a series of new products from its catalog, among which a huge heatsink prepared for accelerators stood out GH200 Grace Hopper Superchip from Nvidia, which is combining a CPU Grace with 72 Arm Neoverse V2 cores and a Hopper GPU.

GH200 Grace Hopper Superchip is hardware designed for AI acceleration and all types of demanding tasks for servers and data centers. These accelerators are usually quite energy demanding and also generate a lot of heat, so advanced cooling is needed. We are talking about an electrical consumption that varies between 450 W and 1000 W.

We recommend our guide on the best heatsinks on the market

This great heatsink, which does not have an official name, has been made by joining two well-known heatsinks in the PC world, the NH-U12A. By joining two of these heatsinks, it was adapted to cool the CPU and the GPU of the GH200 Grace Hopper Superchip.

The Serie NH-U12 It has 120 mm heatsinks and uses fans NF-A12 also 120 mm. By combining two of these heatsinks, Noctua promises that it can dissipate up to 1000W, which is the maximum power consumption of the GH200.

This huge heatsink has about seven heat pipes and up to two NF-A12 fans premium.

The heatsink for the GH200 Grace Hopper Superchip It would be launched in the fourth quarter of this year. We will keep you up to date with all the news.
