Smartphones have revolutionized the perception of the environment thanks to their ability to capture images and videos. The tool that stands out the most is zoom, both in everyday situations and in important events, such as concerts. Learn the best tips to improve your photographs!

Smartphones have transformed not only the way we communicate, but also the way we experience the world around us. One of the biggest highlights is its ability to capture high-quality images and videos in a wide variety of situations. Within this wide range of functionalities, zoom emerges as a particularly relevant tool, not only in capturing everyday moments, but also in large events such as concerts.

María José Villalón @lajosevlog, tech content creator, tells us her best tips for taking photos with zoom. Regarding the recommended settings to capture sharp, high-quality images using Galaxy S24 from a distance, she explains that the first thing to do is activate the guide lines to have as balanced a shot as possible.

“Then I choose the aspect ratio. If it is for stories, reel or TikTok, 16:9. If it is for feed, 1:1 or 3:4. Then the quality. For social networks, 12 megapixels is enough. Unless you want to edit it, but you really don’t need to. I use 200MP during the day when I want to capture the entire stage, all the musicians or dancers. This way you can also enlarge the photo and maintain the quality. If there is a lot of movement, as in the case of a concert where the mass of people moves you or the artist is also constantly moving, I activate S24’s ‘moving photos’.

Another tip that the expert gives is to take “bursts,” sliding the shutter down and then choosing the best photo. “At night it is something similar, but I look for focus and lower the exposure. This is done by holding down the screen until a sun rises, and I lower that to reduce the stage lights, but with Nightography it is almost not necessary,” she says, highlighting the Galaxy S24 series’ tool for capturing images at night.

What practical tips do you have for maintaining image stability when taking zoom photos from afar at a concert? “It’s very difficult because people move you even if you don’t want to. More than anything, take the cell phone with both hands and try to keep your elbows closed. I feel like it gives more stability, but the S24 does it on its own.”

To take advantage of the Galaxy S24’s zoom functions to capture important details without compromising image quality, María José reveals that using 200mp is the best way to maintain quality and be able to capture details. Regarding lighting considerations, she claims that the Galaxy S24 does almost everything. “For example, in general I don’t like using the flash, the Galaxy S24 doesn’t need it either, but managing the exposure as I explained above I think is the most useful. Galaxy helps a lot and is a super complement for photography.”

For his part, Elías Figueroa, Master Trainer of Mobile Products at Samsung Chile, explains that the Galaxy S24 zoom is better than that of previous Smartphones. “Now you can get 2X, 3X, 5X and even 10X close-ups with optical or optical quality zoom. In addition, the new and powerful telephoto lens, with optical image stabilizer, is wider than before to stabilize the shot and reduce the blurred effect of the zoom. And regarding S24 and S24 +, you can capture amazing images with vivid details at greater zoom distances than before. You can capture great details thanks to the new AI zoom solution to improve your image even reaching 30X.”
