Intel Battlemage “Xe2” is being added back to Linux through new identifiers in the operating system.

Intel Battlemage “Xe2” expands its support on Linux

GPUs Battlemage “Xe2” They are going to be launched later this year, either through Lunar Lake processors or in graphics card format.

Intel is expanding Battlemage support for Linuxwhich is showing that the launch will occur in the next few months and that there will be no delays, at least that is what we believe.

These identifiers are associated with the GPU architecture Battlemage “Xe2”plus HWMON support and Celestial Xe3 enablement, as well as various optimizations. The identifiers are detected as: 0xE202, 0xE20B, 0xE20C, 0xE20D and 0xE212.

We recommend our guide on the best graphics cards on the market

The identifiers seen here have no relation to the number of Battlemage GPU models, as some of these models could be engineering samples or models that would never see the light of day on the market. Therefore, we should expect more identifiers in Linux in the coming months.

It was recently discovered that the GPU «BMG-21» Battlemage debuted on Linux with the LLVM compiler and the enabling of the “Replay Technology Panel”.

Arc Battlemage will be the second generation of Arc GPUs that arrive to succeed the current Alchemist variantswhich has been launched for graphics cards and is also present in integrated GPUs inside Core processors such as the Meteor Lake laptop processors. With the Core Ultra 200V “Lunar Lake” processors, a big jump in graphics performance should be noticed when moving from an Xe GPU to an Xe2 GPU.

For now, the first laptops with CPUs Intel Core Ultra 200V “Lunar Lake” should arrive in the fall months, while discrete GPUs would be arriving in the final months. We will keep you up to date with all the news.
