This is 235 million pesos that were distributed in more than 1,350 educational buildings, according to the number of gas devices they currently have, after an exhaustive survey carried out in the last month by the Undersecretary of School Infrastructure.
The mechanism for using these funds by the schools is through the directors, who must hire registered gas technicians in a private manner. These hired professionals will be responsible for leaving the gas appliances in good condition – heaters, stoves, hot water tanks, ovens, boilers, among others – owned by schools in all corners of the province.
Likewise, the Heating area dependent on School Infrastructure is carrying out the largest repair and reconditioning work in establishments that require adapting their facilities in accordance with regulations.
The acquisition of gas appliances, in May
Added to this general heating fund is the acquisition of new appliances that will be carried out in May, through a public tender that has already been published, with an investment of almost 400 million pesos. They will also be distributed in schools throughout the province. In this sense, in the coming days, 1,100 heaters will be purchased (including infrared and balanced draft), five pizza ovens, 120 industrial kitchens, five industrial cooktops, 120 hot water tanks and 30 common kitchens.
There are 600 million pesos in works in progress
In addition, 600 million pesos in gas and heating works are already being carried out, which are included in an investment of 1,500 million pesos planned for 2024, which have already been tendered and awarded for interventions in heating systems and gas appliances. who need repairs in the province’s schools.
“With these works, plus the replacement of at least 1,100 heaters throughout the province, we consider that we will have covered all the building needs that schools have throughout 2024,” Daparo added.
This budget for heating and gas began to be executed in 2023, and the rest will be done during the first half of this year. “We have to continue complying with the requirements that Enargas asks of us to leave educational establishments in safe conditions. “This is a works plan that we continue to execute and we are doing very well,” said the official.
