The councilor for La Florida, Reinaldo Rosales, harshly criticized Mayor Rodolfo Carter for the purchase of 210,000 gas vouchers for $3,300,000,000, an amount 35% higher than what was paid a year ago for the same amount.
«Last year the same amount cost $2,470,000,000 and today $830 million more, in just one year it rose 35%. Nothing increases that in a year,” said Rosales through a message published on his account on the social network “X.”
He highlighted that the 210,000 gas vouchers will be delivered house to house during the month of May, in the middle of the election period.
The councilor stated that in other municipalities in the metropolitan region, such as Paine, the bidding prices are those of last year, that is, $12,000 per voucher.
What happened in Florida that we are paying $16,000 per voucher? he asked.
He pointed out that the additional payment of $830,000.00, at first glance, is not justified, and that with that money “the aid to many families could have been doubled.”
«I asked Carter that they at least surrender during the winter and not during the municipal campaign. Well, as we know, he supports his right-hand man, Daniel Reyes, as a candidate for the June 9 election. But he refused and that’s why I decided to abstain,” Rosales said.
In his message he launched a request to the residents of La Florida to receive help, “but when voting, do not give the pleasure to those who think they can buy from us.”
