The package also contemplates an injection of 26 billion dollars to Israel at a time when the international community is demanding a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and given the possibility of a large-scale operation on the city of Rafah, in the south of a Palestinian enclave already devastated by bombings.

Biden signed the project approved in the Senate with 79 votes in favor (48 Democrats and 31 Republicans) and 18 against (15 Republicans and three Democrats).
