Idrissi put Pachuca ahead in the 67th minute by completing a counterattack. The attacker shot high into the right corner after combining with midfielder Nelson Deossa. However, the locals failed to secure the three points and Almada’s equalizer came in the 83rd minute.
Luis Rodríguez and Salomón Rondón wasted good chances for Pachuca, while Mazatlán lamented the lack of composure of Almada and Andrés Montaño.
With this tie, Pachuca extends its undefeated streak against Mazatlán in the league to five (wins 2 draws 3 losses 0).
