NASHVILLE, Tenn./MONROE, La. (4/27/24) – Bella Coscetti and Josh Jones captured event victories on Saturday, capping the final weekend of pre-championships competition for the Arkansas State track and field teams.

Coscetti won the women’s pole vault at the Warhawk Classic in Monroe, La., clearing 3.96m (12-11.75), while Kaci Andrus tied for eighth with a clearance of 3.41m (11-2.25). She also placed sixth in the 400-meter hurdles, finishing in 1:04.73.

Jones placed first in the men’s 400-meter hurdles with a time of 52.99 at the Music City Challenge in Nashville, and Kenyon Parker ran 56.37 to place 10th. Jones and Parker also competed in 110-meter hurdles qualifying, finishing in 14.03 and 14.26.

Freshman Reneisha Andrews moved up to sixth all-time in the women’s 100 meters, placing third in the first round with a time of 11.66. AJ Allen ran a wind-aided 12.31 and Je’Breiya Chapman clocked a personal-best 12.38.

Noa Isaia placed third in the men’s hammer throw in Nashville with a mark of 53.80m (176-6). Chris Boyd was seventh (49.88m/16-38) while Menachem Chen hurled a career-best 46.52m (152-7).

Michelle Ogbemudia placed eighth in the invitational section of the women’s hammer, throwing the implement 50.64m (166-2). Ogbemudia placed eighth in the women’s shot put invite, throwing 15.28m (50-1.75), with Nyaluet Diew in ninth after a mark of 14.72m (48-3.5).

Willem Coertzen led a trio of top-10 finishers in the men’s shot put, placing fourth with a throw of 17.41m (57-1.5). Chen placed sixth, throwing 16.15m (53-0) and Boyd was ninth, tossing 15.15m (49-8.5).

A trio of Red Wolves clocked career bests in the 400 meters, led by Spencer Taylor’s sixth-place time of 48.20. Mehki Hoo was ninth, crossing in 48.76 and Jeremiah Green finished 16th with a mark of 49.62.

In the 4×100-meter relay, A-State’s men placed third (42.21) while the women finished sixth (47.10).

Tyra Nabors placed 10th in the 100-meter hurdles semifinals with a wind-aided time of 13.74.

Marizenne Jonker competed in the 800 meters, recording a time of 2:21.23.

Colby Eddowes placed second in the men’s pole vault in Monroe, clearing 4.26m (13-11.75). He later ran a career-best 49.78 to place ninth in the 400 meters.

In the invite section of the men’s pole vault, Trace South placed fourth with a clearance of 4.86m (15-11.25) and John Carswell tied for seventh with a height of 4.71m (15-5.5).

Izzy Daines threw the javelin a season-best 42.51m (139-5), and Miranda Burgett tossed 25.37m (83-3). Daines and Burgett placed 10th and 11th in the 100-meter hurdles with wind-aided times of 14.64 and 14.71, respectively.
