The creators of Escape from Tarkov have backtracked on their decision to include an exclusive PvE mode within the €300 Unheard Edition of their first-person action game.

The controversy arose a few days ago when Battlestate announced a new edition of the game with a cooperative PvE mode, which would be exclusive to it and would not be added to previous editions.

Complaints from players were quick to appear, given that the previous Edge of Darkness Edition (which is currently no longer on sale) promised at the time “free access to all future DLCs.”

In a statement posted on Reddit, CEO Nikita Buyanov acknowledged that “somehow we didn’t foresee such a reaction,” which is why they made the decision to “simply open the PvE mode for free to Edge of Edition owners.” Darkness”.

This represents a complete change of position with respect to their first statements after the controversy arose, when Battlestate insisted that “the PvE game mode is not a DLC” and therefore did not count within the promise they had given regarding the DLCs. in the EoD edition.

The “dissatisfaction” of the users, however, has caused the team to “decide that the functionality of the PvE mode will be available for free to all owners of the EoD version when the game is released, when the infrastructure improves to have the necessary capacity”.

Buyanov has admitted that “I want to say that I am very sorry that the fans and the game community in general are feeling this. Unfortunately I did not think about this reaction and now I have come to conclusions for my future decisions.”

Regarding the Unheard Edition, he assured that “we are not going to eliminate it, we want to keep the option for those who want to support the game more. But we will adjust the balance of the items and perks of this edition, and we will offer more rewards.”

“Thank you for your time, love and hate, and thank you for your increased attention to the current situation,” he concludes.
