Fundación CD Tenerife wins in its farewell at home this season | CD Tenerife

The first team of the CD Tenerife Foundation returned to the path of victory this Sunday by winning, with a comeback included, against Córdoba CF Femenino (3-2). The Tenerife team knew how to overcome the Andalusian so many and, thanks to the successes of Ari Quintana, twice, and Iratxe, they managed to reach third position in the table with one day left in the championship.

The match began with a lot of equality in a rainy Tenerife City Javier Pérez, who despite the weather saw clear chances from the first minutes. The first was for the visitors, when Carlota shot close to Sara Niz’s goal. For the blue and white, Adri Méndez would have the first approach, but his center did not pose much danger to the visitors.

Already in the 19th minute of the match, the Andalusian team, which took advantage of its set-piece options, looked short after a corner to Lorena who scored the first goal of the morning (0-1). With the first disadvantage, the first team of the CD Tenerife Foundation tried to return the tie, and almost succeeded with a shot from Iratxe, who went far from Carmen’s goal.

Despite the blue and white attempts, luck in the face of goal was elusive for the locals, who nevertheless saw how, once again, a ball bounced off María Lanza, after a visitor’s shot, ended up in the back of the net to double the advantage of the Andalusians (0-2).

Faced with adversity, Andrés Clavijo’s team continued looking for a goal to close the gap on the scoreboard. The blue and white prize would come in stoppage time in the first half, when Ari Quintana, Tenerife’s top scorer, collected a rebound in the rival area to place, with a great shot, the 1-2 score on the scoreboard, which would lead to half-time.

With the inertia of the goal, the Tenerife team started the second half with more momentum, which led to a greater offensive approach by the blue and whites. Thus, in the 52nd minute of the match, Iratxe would collect a pass from the baseline to establish the tie, (2-2). The goal revitalized the locals to dominate the next few minutes of the game.

The local comeback was completed after the hour mark. After a foul on the right side of the field in the 63rd minute, Ari Quintana linked a great shot directly at goal against which Carmen could do nothing, and which would serve to take the lead on the scoreboard for the first and definitive time in the match (3 -2).

With the advantage on the scoreboard, the first team of the CD Tenerife Foundation gave the spotlight to Córdoba CF Femenino, looking to find spaces on the counter to seal the match. However, the Andalusian team had some chances, such as in the 75th minute, when Sara Niz had to make a great stretch to avoid the tie.

In the last minutes, the game was not in any greater danger, which meant that, with the final whistle, Tenerife’s victory was confirmed, the last at home of the season, which was celebrated by the locals.

With this victory, and after the results of the day, the blue and white team achieved a tie on points with the third place in the competition, Real Unión de Tenerife. The team led by Andréss Clavijo will face its last appointment next weekend in the Second RFEF 23/24, when they travel to Ciudad Real to face Sunday, May 5, starting at 11:00, at FF La Solana .
