From June 6 to 16, the French Institute will be the epicenter of this event, offering a showcase for national and international documentaries, feature films and short films, where the experiences of the LGTBIQ+ community around the world will be explored.

With the motto “Sowing stories, reaping memories”, the FIRE!! is committed to highlighting the importance of film festivals in the global dissemination of LGTBIQ+ cinema, understanding that each shared story contributes to forging a collective memory and preserving the visibility of the community for future generations. Since its first edition, this festival has established itself as an inclusive space where various aspects of sexual and gender identity are addressed, as well as the struggles and victories of those who are part of this community.

For its 29th edition, the FIRE!! presents a preview of its programming, highlighting the first five films that will make up its lineup this year. From the moving French comedy Noah’s Arch (Under the Rainbow), directed by Bryan Marciano, to the inspiring Australian drama Housekeeping for Beginners by Goran Stolevski, passing through Onlyby Sophie Dupuis; I raisedby the Brazilian Lillah Halla, and unicorns by Sally El Hosaini and James Krishna Floyd.

The official opening will take place on Thursday, June 6 at 8 p.m. at the French Institute headquarters, marking the beginning of two weeks full of cinema, reflection and celebration. The inaugural film, Noah’s Archwill be screened for the first time in Spain, followed by a series of screenings scheduled until Sunday, June 16, which include meetings with the cast and directors.

With almost three decades of experience, the FIRE!! Show is preparing to celebrate its 30th anniversary next year, consolidating itself as an essential meeting point for film lovers and those seeking to explore new realities and perspectives through the seventh art.
