NEW YORK, April 30 (Bernama-Xinhua) — The US dollar weakened in late trading on Monday.

The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, lost 0.34 per cent to 105.578 at 3.00 pm (1900 GMT), reported Xinhua.

In late New York trading, the euro advanced to US$1.0725 from US$1.0705 in the previous session, and the British pound was up to US$1.2563 from US$1.2502 in the previous session.

The US dollar bought 155.82 Japanese yen, lower than 157.72 Japanese yen from the previous session. The US dollar was down to 0.9100 Swiss francs from 0.9133 Swiss francs, and it increased to 1.3661 Canadian dollars from 1.3656 Canadian dollars. The US dollar declined to 10.9203 Swedish kronor from 10.9309 Swedish kronor.
