Who receives the Winter Bonus?

The aforementioned government site indicates that all people who are 65 years old or older will receive this contribution. (as of May 1, 2024)and that they are:

• Pensioners of the Social Security Institute (IPS)Occupational Safety Institute (ISL)National Defense Provident Fund (Capredena)Forecast Directorate of Carabineros de Chile (Dipreca) or of the employer mutual societies who receive an amount less than or equal to the value of the minimum old-age pension ($212,406).
• Pensioners of a Pension Fund Administrator (AFP)and receive a Minimum Pension with State Guarantee.
• Old Age Solidarity Pension Contribution (APSV), whose pension is less than or equal to the value of the minimum old-age pension ($212,406).
• Beneficiaries of the Universal Guaranteed Pension (PGU).
• Pensioners from any pension scheme who are receiving the PGU, and whose pension is equal to, less than or equal to the value of the minimum old-age pension ($212,406).
• Beneficiaries of the Reparation Pension for Victims of Political Imprisonment and Torture, Widow’s Pension for deceased reparation pensioners and Non-Contributory Pension for Politically Exonerated Persons.

Who DOES NOT receive the Winter Bonus?

The IPS website itself indicates that you will not receive this benefit if you meet one of these characteristics:

If you receive more than one pension You are not entitled to the Winter Bonusexcept if the sum of these pensions is equal to or less than a minimum old-age pension ($212,406).

Besides, They are not beneficiaries:

• Disability Allowance Holders, because they are not covered by the law and because they do not meet the age requirement.
• Coal compensation holders for not being covered by the law. If these holders receive any other pension, they cannot access the Winter Bonus either, even though they total less than the defined limit.
