‘I Have to Follow Suit!’ (Exclusive)

The actress is teaming up with eBay to help curate a collection of rare items from the ‘Star Wars’ franchise’s decades-long history

Barry King/WireImage Actress Carrie Fisher and daughter actress Billie Lourd attend the Premiere of Walt Disney Pictures and Lucasfilm’s ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ on December 14, 2015 in Hollywood, California.

The strength is strong in Billie Lourd’s family.

The Ticket to Paradise actress, who is the daughter of late icon Carrie Fisher, is helping eBay put together collections of Star Wars memorabilia in honor of May the 4th, and she tells PEOPLE that inheriting the galaxy far, far away from her mom has been “surreal.”

“It’s actually bananas to me. Bananas in a serious way. It really is absolutely incredible to have gotten to actually be in these movies, even in the small part that I was in. It’s such a gift for me and now for my kids,” says Lourd, 31, who starred as Lieutenant Connix alongside her mom as Leia in the sequel films.

”It’s a real blessing because I am a Star Wars fuhreak — that’s FUHREAK!”

like any star wars fan, Lourd admits it’s “so hard to pick” a favorite film, but she does have a special place in her heart for one in particular.

“I’ve got to say empire. empire It was my mom’s favorite movie, and I think it’s mine. But To New Hope It’s so classic too. And Jedi— It’s Jabba!” says Lourd, referencing the three movies that constitute the original Star Wars trilogy and the moment in the third film, Return of the Jediwhere an empowered Leia finally kills the slimy, space-gangster Jabba the Hutt herself.

Still, Lourd says, Empire Strikes Back remains her top choice. “I have to follow suit with my mom,” says Lourd, “and that was her favorite of hers. I think it was her favorite of hers to do and [just] “her favorite.”

Empire Strikes Back premiered in 1980, and it followed Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill), Princess Leia (Fisher) and Han Solo (Harrison Ford) as they fled the frozen tundra of planet Hoth for the swamps of Yoda’s Dagobah and the clouds of Bespin city as they tried to outrun Darth Vader and the dark side.

Lourd is, by nature, a fan of the light side — and with eBay’s “Your Side of the Fourth” collection, she finds herself drawn most of the Princess Leia items.

“I wish I had an unlimited budget to buy all of this stuff. I’m actually bidding on two things right now. I will never get them, but in my dreams I will. I bought a Princess Leia toothbrush. I bought a Princess Leia shirt. I actually bought six shirts. My husband was like, ‘What are you doing? I think you do not have room for these shirts.’ But it’s been a labor of love. I’m actually going to buy another dresser just for Star Wars shirts, so let me live,” Lourd says with a laugh.

One of the rarest items up for grabs is a Princess Leia trading card. Lourd says in a perfect world, that would be the dream item.

“I would love to have that trading card. The ‘Tears of a Princess’ one that I’m sure will go for $9 million? I would frame that and put it next to my bed,” she says. “It’s so incredible. I’m never going to get it, but I wish I could.”

Lourd’s also got her eyes on the Mark Hamill signed lightsaber hilt.

“That would be insane to have. My son would love me forever. It’s so cool. And then there’s this Swarovski Boba Fett head. It’s a dream. I wish,” she says of the sparkly item in the Dark Side collection.

Fisher was famous for her love of all things that glittered — she even carried it around and would often sprinkle it on herself and others for fun. Lourd adds that she’s drawn to the Swarovski item because she too is “obsessed with glitter.”

As for how she’ll be spending May the 4th, aka Star Wars Day? “I’m literally sitting next to my Leia backpack. I will carry my Leia backpack. I’ll wear a whole outfit. We’ll watch the movies,” Lourd says. “Yeah. We’re big May-the-4th people.”
