LOUISVILLE, Ky. — With one day until the Kentucky Derby 150, fans decked out in pink filled historic Churchill Downs for a day of racing and the Kentucky Oaks.

Stacy Graham and Joe Coriell of nearby New Albany, Indiana, were making the most of it along a muddy track, wearing rain ponchos over their Oaks Day pink.
“I had a feeling it was going to rain,” Graham said. “It was a last-minute decision to come tonight, and (I) went this morning to Tractor Supply to get boots and I was making sure I was covered from head to toe. Hat, dress, everything; I’m in it to win it.”
Was she still having fun?
“Oh, my god, yes,” Graham said. “Absolutely.”
That was the mood at Churchill Downs Friday, where Vontez and Haleigh Nobles of Louisville snapped some photos at the new paddock.
“If you’re from here, this is, like, the biggest day we have here,” Vontez Nobles said. “It’s the whole week. There’s something special for every Louisville native.”
A crowd of 107,236 attended Friday’s Kentucky Oaks, about a 1,000 increase compared to 2023.
