The Vallenato Festival of Valledupar has turned this city into the epicenter of Vallenato music, bringing together artists of national and international stature since Tuesday, April 30. Among the participants in the 2024 version, the presence of the Mexican singer Carin León stood out, who delighted the public on the night of May 2.
The event, which celebrates vallenato music, one of the most emblematic cultural expressions of Colombia, plans its grand closing for May 4, with performances by Juan Luis Guerra, Grupo Frontera, Iván Villazón, Peter Manjarrés and Elder Dayán in the Park of the Vallenata Legend.

Carin León, recognized for his contribution to regional Mexican music, has achieved a notable career in genres such as banda and corrido. Originally from Guanajuato, the artist has managed to win the hearts of the public not only in his country, but internationally, thanks to his ability to interpret various musical styles with authenticity and passion.

On the other hand, The 57th edition of the Vallenata Legend Festival is not only a platform for the meeting of great musicians, but also a competitive space for emerging talents. Such is the case of the Professional Accordion competition, which this year has participants from 17 departments of Colombia and three countries, demonstrating the wide interest and diversity of talents that vallenato attracts. The 25 qualifiers will compete in the following rounds performing the four airs of vallenato folklore: stroll, merengue, puya and son, and of them only 15 accordion players will emerge who will advance to the semifinals.
The 25 classified are: Javier Rodrigo Álvarez, Enaldo Barrera Tovar, Edgardo Bolaño Gnecco, Jaime Luis Castañeda Campillo, Camilo Andrés Montaña, the American Richard Enrique Daza, Jairo Andrés de la Ossa, José María González, Omar ‘El Zorro’ Hernández and Juan David ‘El Pollito’ Herrera.
