Carin León, recognized for his contribution to regional Mexican music, has achieved a notable career in genres such as banda and corrido. Originally from Guanajuato, the artist has managed to win the hearts of the public not only in his country, but internationally, thanks to his ability to interpret various musical styles with authenticity and passion.

Their participation in the Vallenato Festival highlights cultural fusion and demonstrates the universality of musical taste, where geographical borders are diluted before the unifying power of music. And precisely, during his stay in the capital of Cesar, León had the opportunity to experience the essence of the festival intimately, by participating in a private meeting at the home of fellow singer Silvestre Dangond.

There, along with figures like Carlos Vives, the Mexican performed the vallenato song with enthusiasm. Obsession, composed by Barranquilla native Sergio Amaris, demonstrating his versatility and deep respect for this genre. The moment was widely disseminated on various digital platforms through a video, generating a reaction of astonishment and admiration both in those present and among their followers and Internet users.

“I loved Carin León singing vallenato”; “What the vallenato festival does is magical. Gather friends in a backyard to sing. These days, Carin León, Silvestre Dangond, Carlos Vives, Pipe and Miguel Bueno were together. The Mexican was singing Obsesión,” users mentioned on social networks. Likewise, there were those who gave their opinion about his participation in the festival:

“Carin put on a tremendous show in Valledupar with Colombian artists. “Times without seeing an international artist enjoy his stay like this”; “Now who can stop me from wanting to see Carin León live again”; “I hadn’t paid much attention to Carin León’s music… And wow, what power!”

On the other hand, The 57th edition of the Vallenata Legend Festival is not only a platform for the meeting of great musicians, but also a competitive space for emerging talents. Such is the case of the Professional Accordion competition, which this year has participants from 17 departments of Colombia and three countries, demonstrating the wide interest and diversity of talents that vallenato attracts. The 25 qualifiers will compete in the following rounds performing the four airs of vallenato folklore: stroll, merengue, puya and son, and of them only 15 accordion players will emerge who will advance to the semifinals.
