Last Wednesday one of the most widespread rumors in the world of Formula 1 came true: Adrian Newey will leave Red Bull in 2025. This news had been brewing for weeks, with cross news from various countries in which it was pointed out that the most coveted engineer on the circuit would leave what has been his team. for almost 20 years. It was also pointed out that Aston Martin -where is Alonso- and Ferrari -where Hamilton will be- were the main candidates to take over his services. They will not have it easy, since in addition to having to compete among themselves, the winner will have to assume the important pay that King Midas of aerodynamics received in what until now was his home.
Thus, throughout this week numerous statements have been collected from different fronts, starting with Red Bull Racing itself. The Austrian brand published a statement in which he announced the departure of Newey, which will face its final year focused on “the final development and delivery of Red Bull’s first hypercar, the long-awaited RB17. “He will remain involved and committed to this exciting project until its completion.” Thus, the company emphasized the “fundamental” role of its technical director of 65 years “when it comes to getting seven notable Formula 1 drivers’ and six constructors’ championship titleswith a total of 118 wins and 101 pole positions, including the 2008 STR pole and victory.”
