The accident, whose causes are the subject of investigation, occurred at 9:20, when two men apparently went down to the tracks to urinate, before one of them was hit by the train. Emergencies Madrid has confirmed the death of the approximately 25-year-old man, “without being able to do anything for this person”, due to “irreversible injuries”. The firefighters have removed the body, after authorization from a judge. The service of metro line 1 was suspended between the Sol and Estación del Arte stations, in both directions, between the time of the accident and until 11:40.

Sources from the National Police have revealed that the victim was a man of Colombian nationality, born in 1998. The man did not respond to the resuscitation maneuvers applied by the paramedics.
