CLOVIS, NM (KFDA) – Court documents reveal new details on the timeline of events and arrest of the suspect in a double murder and kidnapping in Clovis.

On Friday, May 3 around 4:25 pm, Clovis Police Dispatch received a call reporting two women laying on the ground and a crying child at Ned Houk Park.

An officer responded to find 23-year-old Samantha Cisneros and 23-year-old Taryn Allen of Texico, New Mexico, lying on the ground near a silver minivan.

The officer then saw a 5-year-old girl on the ground. When the officer went to check on the girl, court documents say she tried to lift her head and speak to the officer.

The girl was taken to a Lubbock hospital for her injuries. Court documents state it was later learned she had a gunshot wound to her head and was in critical condition.

The officer then saw a baby bottle laying on the ground with a stroller pushed up near the silver minivan. That’s when the officer started looking for a baby.

An officer also observed what appeared to be a maroon in color part to a car near the 5-year-old child.

Two witnesses told officers they saw the women lying on the ground and called 911. Another witness told officers he heard gunshots earlier in the day.

The Clovis Police Department contacted the New Mexico State Police, and an Amber Alert was issued at 10:10 pm for 10-month-old Eleia Maria Torres.

On May 4, FBI investigators responded and began organizing a search of the area and interviewing individuals.

During a search of the minivan registered to Samantha, investigators found a receipt to Dollar Tree with a time stamp of 2:48 pm on May 3. Investigators obtained video from the store. In the video, Samantha and Taryn were seen, along with the children.

Phone records for Samantha’s phone showed it to be at the Twin Cronnies restaurant around 2:15 pm The phone also showed it to be at the park around 2:59 pm

Investigators obtained search warrants for cell phone providers to obtain any phone numbers near the area of ​​Ned Houk Park at the time of the incident.

During the search for the numbers, a phone number registered to Alek Collins was located to be at the park around the same times as the incident. The phone also appeared to be near the Dollar Tree area at the same time as the women and children.

Investigators also obtained video surveillance from a nearby McDonalds that showed a maroon Honda in the drive through lane around 2:44 pm on May 3. The car appeared to have a missing sideview mirror cover on the passenger side of the car.

Investigators learned the car was registered to a person in Texas and had been rented out on the Turo app. The car had been rented on April 21 and was supposed to be returned on April 23.

The person who had rented the car was identified as Alek Collins.

The car’s GPS monitoring system showed the vehicle to be located in Clovis at the date and time of the incident.

The GPS coordinates show the car traveled from Clovis to Abilene, and the car’s owner was able to disable the car in Abilene.

During the investigation, court documents say it was learned Collins had contacted the FBI Nation Threat Operations Center on October 10, 2023. He said if the FBI did not help him in finding his daughter, he would murder a bunch of children.

Local agents near Abilene were dispatched to a home on Harwell Street for surveillance. Court documents state agents observed a man pushing a maroon Honda out of the garage and into the street.

The car was observed to have the Texas license plate and damage to both sideview mirrors.

Agents then detained the man and identified him as Alek Collins. 10-month-old Eleia Marie Torres was also located with Collins.

During a search of the house and car, agents reported finding a Glock 43X on the scene.

During an interview with Collins, agents learned he admitted to taking the baby but not to shooting any of the victims.

During a news conference on May 6, District Attorney Quentin Ray said Alek Collins is charged with two counts of first degree murder, first degree kidnapping and two counts of child abuse.

According to jail records, Collins is also charged with aggravated robbery and aggravated assault against a public servant in Abilene.
