The storms could bring damaging winds with gusts over 60 mph, large hail over 1.5 inches, tornadoes and flash flooding, especially for locations that have seen multiple rounds of rain.

“Wednesday and especially Wednesday night into Thursday morning is becoming more concerning,” the NWS said. “Storms may be able to remain discrete (a single storm versus a line of storms), which would significantly increase our chance of seeing very large hail and strong tornadoes. “This is an evolving forecast that will likely change.”

Residents are encouraged to review their severe weather plans, and make sure they have chosen a safe place to take shelter.
