We can say that the two essential devices in our daily lives are the smartphone and the computer, and for many people the first is enough. But for years there has also been a hybrid between both devices, tablets, and although during their first years they were very popular, the truth is that they are currently not in the position that manufacturers would expect them to be.

This is because at the end of the day, users prefer to use a computer for tasks where they need larger screens, and for the rest of the things they make do with their smartphones. But Apple wants to change this concept, and knowing that separating us from our smartphone is a practically impossible task, they want to put an end to computers.

Or that is what they have revealed after the presentation of their new iPads that they showed for the first time this past Tuesday during the “Let Loose” event, their first big event of the year. With the help of Tim Cook, Apple has presented on the one hand the nnew iPad Pro model (2024) which will be accompanied by the new Apple Pencil Proin addition to the new version of AirPad Air 6.

iPad Pro (2024) and all its news

The highlight of this presentation was the iPad Pro (2024) and the truth is that it did not disappoint. As usual, the company offers it in two sizes (11 and 13 inches)but unlike past releases the screen of this tablet is the thinnest design they have ever presented, managing to reduce its thickness to 5.1 and 5.3 mm.

Another highlight, if not the highlight, is the introduction of the highly anticipated M4 chip, the most powerful and fastest so far. Its processor has been presented as the most powerful ever put in a tablet thanks to the Neural Engine technologyequipped with Artificial Intelligence and which, according to Apple, is capable of performing 38 billion operations per second.

It is also worth highlighting your Ultra Retina XDR display, with two OLED panels and the 12 megapixel camera that is built in. Its starting price does not leave anyone indifferent either, since Apple has released them from €1,199 for the 11-inch model and €1,549 for the 13-inch model

Another of the novelties that they presented yesterday was the new iPad Air 6which also comes in two sizes (11 and 13 inches) and in this case has a M2 chip which despite being very far from the iPad Pro, far exceeds the capabilities of its predecessor, the iPad Air 5. We can find it from 699 euros or 949 euros depending on the size.

Finally, Apple also presented two new versions of the accessories for these tablets, on the one hand, there is the Apple Pencil Proa smart pen with interchangeable tips that improves the tracing and precision you can find for 149 euros. While the new one has also arrived Magic Keyboard with trackpad.

With these launches, Apple has made clear its commitment to tablets, and its intention to revive this range of devices by making them more capable and complete by offering more power and autonomy than most laptops.
