PETALING JAYA: The sudden rain in Klang Valley has caused flash floods and traffic congestion in Kajang.

Videos and images shared on social media showed parts of Kajang flooded by waters almost at knee length, with vehicles caught in the flood waters.

The flash floods also caused several main roads in Kajang to be closed, with social media users informing others to use alternative roads and to be careful.

Aside from flash floods in Kajang, https://twitter.com/astrotraffic/status/1788155996109697350 also tweeted that there are reports of flooding in other parts of Klang Valley, including parts of Damansara Damai, Kepong, Petaling Jaya, Seri Kembangan, and Putrajaya, which are causing further traffic delays

The Meteorology Department (https://twitter.com/metmalaysia/status/1788142985244508395) in its 5.40pm report, noted of heavy rain around Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, and Putrajaya, which was predicted to last until 9pm.

https://twitter.com/astrotraffic/status/1788162755683549397 also tweeted that major highways including Damansara-Puchong Expressway, Kuala Lumpur Middle Ring Road 2 (MRR2), KESAS and SPRINT are congested due to the bad weather.
