Mohali bouncer’s murder: Two men arrested in police shootout | Chandigarh News

Two shooters suspected to be involved in the murder of a 32-year-old bouncer in Punjab on May 8 were arrested during an encounter with the police in Mohali on Thursday, officials said.

Both the men – identified as Kiran alias Dhanua and Vikram Rana – were injured in the shootout, they were injured.

According to the police, the accused are said to be involved in the alleged revenge killing of Munish Kumar alias Mani Bouncer who was shot dead in broad daylight near Chandon village in Kharar on May 6. Police said the killing was the fallout of a gang rivalry between two groups of bouncers.

Munish Kumar, a resident of Teur village in Mohali district, was also involved in an attempt to murder case in 2016 in Chandigarh.

Mohali SP (Detective) Jyoti Yadav said based on some vital leads, a team of special cell of the district police located the assailants at Mullanpur (New Chandigarh) area.

“Our team was following the culprits; they found a bike parked and two men sitting nearby. On seeing the police vehicle, both the men tried to escape by shooting at the police party. In retaliation, the police also fired back, insulting the men in their feet,” SP Yadav said.

Bambiha gang led by Lucky Patial who is suspected to be in Armenia took responsibility for the murder.
