In the last year, 2,264 Rio Negro households, in 22 locations, accessed natural gas through the Gas Rio Negro plan, financed by the Gas Funds Commission of the Río Negro Legislature. The gas network expansion works seek to accompany the development of each locality, with the inclusion of more Rio Negro families to a safe and quality gas service.
While at the national level public works are not a priority, Río Negro continues to invest in basic services for its population and provide jobs through the public works generated.
Families of Cervantes, Comallo, Dina Huapi, Ramos Mexía, Aguada Cecilio, El Bolsón, Villa Regina, Chimpay, Luis Beltrán, Los Menucos, Chichinales, Mainqué, Viedma, Choele Choel, Guardia Miter, Río Colorado, Maquinchao, Jacobacci, Fernández Oro , General Roca, Valcheta and Lamarque were able to connect to this basic service in the last year.
Currently, the Ministry of Public Works and Services is working to approve new works in Sierra Grande, Playas Doradas, General Roca, Cipolletti and San Antonio Oeste.
In Chimpay, the gas network expansion works in the Landriscina neighborhood will soon be completed, allowing a total of 356 homes to be connected to the service. Similarly, in the Buena Parada II neighborhood of Río Colorado, works are being carried out that will bring gas to more than 100 families.
Likewise, work will soon begin to expand the Los Menucos network to bring natural gas to 43 families and the CET 34. In Ingeniero Huergo, works will be carried out to enable connection to 90 families of a municipal subdivision. The same works will be carried out in Chichinales to 54 families from the Ceferino neighborhood and 257 families from the 11 de Noviembre neighborhood of Allen.
We carry natural gas no matter where you live
From last year to date, the Rionegrino Gas Plan implemented by the Ministry of Public Works and Services allowed the execution of 34 gas works throughout the provincial territory, reaching 2,264 Rio Negro families with the service.
In the Alto Valle, a total of 11 works were carried out, with 1,167 beneficiary families, representing 51% of the new home connections. These tasks were carried out in the towns of General Roca, Fernández Oro, Villa Regina, Cervantes, Mainqué and Chichinales.
In the case of the Middle Valley, six gas works were carried out with a total of 489 beneficiary families with natural gas. Likewise, in the Andean zone, five gas works were carried out in El Bolsón, Dina Huapi and Comallo with 333 new beneficiary families.
Finally, in the Southern Region, eight gas works were carried out, representing 260 connections to families from Ramos Mexía, Aguada Cecilio, Maquinchao and Ingeniero Jacobacci; while in the Atlantic Zone the gas work for Guardia Miter stands out, which allowed 15 families to connect to the gas network, while in Viedma the network was extended to the Viedma Industrial Park (Enrepavi).
Southern Region Gas Pipeline
It should be noted that, outside the Rionegrino Gas Plan but in the same line of expanding the coverage of basic services for Rio Negro families, the Provincial Government completed the conversion to natural gas in the Southern Region in mid-April.
In this way, the province closed a stage that began with the construction of 365 km of a gas pipeline that crossed the Rio Negro steppe to bring gas to inhabitants of the coldest region.
The conversion to natural gas completed weeks ago allowed 180 homes to be connected in Ramos Mexía, 740 in Sierra Colorada, 1380 in Los Menucos and 730 families in Maquinchao, with the possibility of continuing to add more homes to the network.
