The IPL has entered its climax and still, a single team hasn’t managed to earn the qualifying status for the playoffs. Rajasthan Royals have long been considered as one of the best teams in IPL 2024 but following two back to back losses they are under a bit of pressure.

Sanju Samson‘s side is sitting in the second position with 16 points while Kolkata Knight Riders have the same number of points and leading the table for having a superior run rate.

RR will now face Chennai Super Kings at the Chepauk Stadium on Sunday. A win against CSK will further brighten their chances of finishing in the top two.

Sanju Samson has been in excellent form while Riyan Parag has emerged as their savior on multiple occasions. RR all rounder Donovan Ferreira believes the team should have qualified for the playoffs by now and they want to signal a spot in the last four as quickly as possible.

“We should have already qualified for the playoffs by now. But, the IPL is a long tournament, and obviously, the second half is important.

“We had set out nicely by winning most of the games in the first half, and this game is quite important. We have three games left, but we don’t want to leave it too late and put pressure on ourselves.”

CSK lost their last game against Gujarat Titans but Ferreira insisted they cannot take MS Dhoni’s team lightly as the five time champions are capable of anything in IPL.

“If we win this game, it will give us an even better chance of finishing first or second. Anyone playing against Chennai knows they are a good team. The past few games have been close, and these small margins can go either way. But Hopefully, we can get over the line tomorrow by playing the brand of cricket that we have been playing.”
