Soca Warriors head coach Angus Eve said there were a lot of positives in his team’s brace of international friendly wins over Guyana.

T&T beat Guyana 2-1 on Monday before getting past the Golden Jaguars 2-0 on Wednesday at the Hasely Crawford Stadium.

Eve was left disappointed after this team’s disjointed in the second half of Monday’s match but felt there was improvement on Wednesday night.

“With tonight’s game, especially, I thought the first half was excellent again. Had we scored the chances we got, I think it could have been a bigger score line but we will take the win,” he said.

While happier with the performance, Eve said there are still issues to be resolved.

“I was happy for the most part except for the second half of the first game. I thought we were very consistent in our play today but again we gave away some sloppy chances. We have to eliminate those problems when we face the bigger teams, “he said.

Trinidad and Tobago face Grenada and the Bahamas in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in June.

He called on the public to come out and support the team ahead of its attempt to qualify for the World Cup.

“We need the twelfth man to be on board with us and the guys will come out and give everything that we have. We want the fans to come out and support the 23 players. The TTFA alone cannot help us qualify, we need the government , we need the normal man in the street. When the team does qualify, all of us will be celebrating as a nation,” he said.

Trinidad and Tobago host Grenada on June 5 before traveling to face the Bahamas on June 8.
