AI@EUElections warns about AI-generated content

Newtral.es has joined AI@EUElections, a project focused on raising awareness about content generated with artificial intelligence (AI) and digitally altered. This project, coordinated by the network of fact-checkers European Parliament (EFCSN) and with the support of Meta, seeks to promote knowledge in this field before the European Parliament elections on June 9.

In the coming days, Newtral.es and 30 other EFCSN member fact-checking organizations across Europe will carry out an awareness campaign through videos, infographics and a publication translated into 27 languages.

This campaign and shared materials are the culmination of a survey and a series of workshops in which information was collected from fact-checkers about their methods for identifying, verifying and debunking AI-generated content, as well as revealing the challenges verification organizations face with this type of content. These results will be presented in the final publication.

AI@EUElections is a joint project of the European Fact-Checking Standards Network and its participating member organizations, funded by Meta.
