Today commemorates the World Environment Day and begins a busy agenda of free educational and recreational activities, in the city of Córdoba.

The Secretary of Sustainable Environment and Circular Economy of the municipality proposes today, at 8:30, an outdoor meditation to explore tools for self-knowledge and connection with the environment, which will take place in the Free University of the Environment (ULA).

Tomorrow, June 6, on the ULA YouTube channel, the webinar “Biodiversity and us” from 11 a.m. It will be led by Obdulio Menghi, who will speak on conservation, nature and sustainable policies.

Meanwhile, on Friday the 7th, the ULA will train in home composting. It will be led by engineer Carlos Zárate. Starting at 10, he will explain how to convert organic waste into fertilizer for home plants.

On the same day, but at 5 p.m., the panel “Sound Pollution in Córdoba – Actions to Recover Environmental Health”by specialists who will visit the municipal educational institution.

The closing will be at 8 p.m., when the Municipal Cineclub premieres “Tales of the Earth,” an Argentine fiction with an international cast that seeks to raise environmental awareness and encourage debate about conservation and quality of life with stories from the Mapuche people.

The central activity will be Saturday 8, when The 360 ​​Immersive Experience “For a better planet” is presented in the Botanical Garden with projections in a large inflatable dome where topics such as caring for the common home, life on Earth and caring for natural resources, among others, will be addressed.

It can be visited from 2:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. and there will also be a fair of artisanal and gastronomic products. In addition, the invitation is extended to visit the Botanical Garden all week between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m.

In addition to the educational and cultural proposals, two days of forestation will be held in our city, to add trees to green spaces in Córdoba that contribute to improving the quality of soil, air and water, counteracting the effects of urban pollution.

The first will be today, at 9:30, in the Plaza del Niño in the Jardín neighborhood, where 350 trees of native species will be planted.

The second will take place in Plaza Lorenzo Bronzino in the Parque Vélez Sársfield neighborhood. Another 200 trees of local flora will be planted here.

Native species are of great benefit by enabling ecosystem balance, serving as a refuge for local fauna and not requiring special care.
