The National Meteorological Service (SNM) issued a flood warning this afternoon for several municipalities in the north of the Island due to heavy downpours affecting the region.

The warning is in effect until 1:45 pm today, for Arecibo, Barceloneta, Florida and Manatí, and until 3:15 pm for Aguadilla, Isabela, Camuy, Quebradillas and Hatillo.

According to the bulletin, these towns could experience heavy rains and thunderstorms, as well as urban and stream flooding.

Meteorology urges not to cross flooded areas

The SNM urged not to cross flooded roads, given that the accumulation of water is generally greater than what can be seen with the naked eye.
