Today the General Council of the National Electoral Institute (INE) meets to follow up on the sessions of the 32 Local Councils and 300 district councils to carry out counts, which take place uninterruptedly and may even conclude until Saturday.

The executive secretary of the INE, the Executive Secretariat, Claudia Edith Suárez Ojeda, gave a report on the installation of these councils and announced that, in addition to the preliminary estimated presidential count, the vote count in the case of the deputy elections will be, tentatively , 37.7% and 70.73% for the Senate.

“This Institute is in a position to open for vote counting the packages that are necessary and that fall within any of the assumptions of the Law, so yesterday it was cut off at 11:59 p.m., according to information from the Directorate. of Electoral Organization, the approximate count of 67.33% of packages for the presidential election, 37.7% for deputations and 70.73% for the senatorial election was estimated as a preliminary projection,” he noted.

The count will be in that order and the final decision on the openings will be made by the district councils, he explained.

Earlier, the president advisor of the INE, Guadalupe Taddei, published a video on X in which she called on political actors to remain calm.

In the session, the representative of National Action (PAN), Víctor Hugo Sondón, indicated that even what they have reviewed in 23,780 poll records do not report the vote of Xóchitl Gálvez.

As a bloc, the Morenistas defended the results of the election and the “overwhelming” victory that – they warned – should not give rise to complaints. They anticipated that, after the recount, the advantage of the virtual winner Claudia Sheinbaum will expand.

The moderate voice was from councilor Ucc-Kib Espadas, who particularly refuted Noroña: “He says the people expressed themselves overwhelmingly. Let’s see, I am concerned about the use of the term, I don’t think it is about making anyone a vassal. “It was a very broad, irrefutable triumph. But should it be seen as an overwhelming triumph?”

“It seems to me that no… you cannot make vassals of 23 million citizens who did not vote with the majority, who are not a tiny minority and even if they were, they should not be subdued,” he stated.
