Laura Madrueño’s disconsolate tears in her emotional farewell to ‘Survivors 2024’

‘Survivors 2024’ comes to an end and with it the iconic closing of the Palapa. Just 48 hours before the grand finale, Laura Madrueño (38 years old) said goodbye in tears to the four finalists and to the viewers who, week after week, have led the reality show to be the most watched of the season.

“102 days have passed since we lit this Palapa for the first time. Under the watchful eye of Poseidon, this great temple of stone, fire and water lit its torches to receive twenty new brave people who dared to be part of ‘Survivors'” , the presenter began by saying while different shots of this primordial scenario were interspersed.

“Fifteen weeks of adventures in which hunger, fatigue, exhaustion and apathy became their enemies. And they became prey to them. Without imagining that they were going to have strong opponents. Bravery, self-improvement, courage and fight made them overcome, despite everything, managing to become true examples of the word survive. Tonight we turn off the Palapa for them. A Palapa that goes out after having made history”, the presenter continued in a speech full of feelings.

Survivors

It was at the moment in which he addressed his teammates, when Laura’s voice was broken by tears: “Thanks for joining us. Thank you for living this adventure from start to finish. Thank you for giving your all and for making the magic of ‘Survivors’ possible, and for having taken care of me all these months. And now, team, We put out the torches.”

At that moment the torches go out, leaving the Palapa completely dark. Gesture that puts an end to a very intense edition of ‘Survivors’ in which Laura has dedicated herself more than ever to the contestants. And there is not one of them who has not made reference to the way in which the presenter takes care of them at each gala.

The farewell did not end there… Laura left the Palapa and many of the team members were waiting for her outside, who make it possible for viewers to enjoy the best from their homes every Thursday, every Tuesday and every Sunday.

Laura’s tears flowed again with the applause of her colleagues, dozens of people who have become family in recent months. “They are the true protagonists. Thank you all for having been with me. Thank you to everyone who makes this program possible,” she said, completely broken.

From Madrid it was Sandra Barneda who responded to all the affection with warm applause. “Many emotions because there have been more than 200 hours and so many things that remain there (…) It has been a pleasure to have been part of this edition. You have given me wonderful moments. Thank you,” she said. Many stories from our survivors and the 200 people who make this program possible (…) Thank you Sandra. I can’t believe it happened so quickly. “We’ll see each other, although it won’t be very soon.”, Laura concluded.

The reason why Laura Madrueño will not be in the grand finale of ‘Survivors 2024’

This year also has a change that directly affects the presenter. Laura Madrueño will not travel to Madrid with the finalists as was customary. The imminent arrival of ‘Survivors All Stars’ has forced him to extend his stay in Honduras a little longer.

It was Laura herself who communicated the news to Marieta, Pedro, Torres and Arkano. “I will not be able to return with you to Madrid tonight but I would like to experience a very special moment to say goodbye,” she said minutes before heading to Cayo Paloma to live with the survivors their last seconds on the beach. And with the sea in the background, the presenter was full of praise for the contestants.

“Thank you for every smile, for every tear, for every hug, for every I can’t take it anymore but I get up, for every time you wanted to throw in the towel but you didn’t, for every drop of sweat, for your desire… and for show us that you are as strong as you think. From now on, I am sure that this adventure will occupy a place in your heart just as it does in mine. It is time to return so that only one of you wins. , although you already know that for me, you are all winners,” he stated.

Therefore, this farewell is just a see you soon, since next Thursday the Palapa will once again look impressive with the arrival of Adara Molinero, Sofía Suescun, Jorge Pérez, Abraham, Logan Sampedro, Olga Moreno, Bosco Martínez-Bordiú, Marta de Lola, Alejandro Nieto and Marta Peñate.
