With the participation of 25 escorts from educational institutions from 11 different departments of the country, the Congress of the Republic celebrated Flag Day (June 7) with an emotional civic event and parade organized by the First Vice Presidency of the Parliament and the Office of Citizen participation.

The first vice president of Congress, Arturo Alegría García (Fuerza Popular), urged young people to continue the legacy that Francisco Bolognesi and Alfonso Ugarte left us in defense of the homeland.

“It is crucial to know our history and patriotic legacy, we must honor those who preceded us, thereby strengthening our sense of identity and belonging, proud to be part of a nation rich in culture, history and values,” he said.

Alegría García stated that the best tribute we can pay to our heroes is to follow their example, defend our flag as they did, which also means defending democracy and freedom.

Finally, before presenting the diploma of honor and the pennant of the Congress of the Republic to each delegation, the first vice president honored the national emblems and shields carried by the representatives of representative colleges of the country.

While thanking the significant tribute to the flag, the Vice Minister of Citizen Security, Julio Díaz Zulueta, maintained that youth represents freedom, justice and solidarity, meanings inherited from our heroes that we must carry high like the national flag that is a national symbol. by excellence.

Also participating in the event were Luis Alberto Quintanilla Gutiérrez, regional director of Education of Metropolitan Lima, Leo Miguel de Paz, councilor of the Municipality of Metropolitan Lima; teachers and school directors, among others.
