During the first hours of this month, two intense solar eruptions were recorded, which are already classified in the strongest category.

But, just beginning June, on the 1st, two strong eruptions in our star once again attracted attention of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (POT, for its acronym in English). This was because the US space agency captured images of these phenomena and classified them within the most powerful category.
According to the statement issued by the POT the peaks of the solar flares occurred at 4:48 a.m. and 2:36 p.m. (Eastern Time of the Western Hemisphere).

In the same text it is explained that the first eruption is classified as X1.4 and the second as X1.0. In this case the “X” serves to classify the more intense solar flareswhile the number provides more details about its strength.
