Nearly 20 San Juan schools do not have heating due to lack of gas

This Thursday, the government of San Juan offered a press conference to address the situation of the schools without gas supply. They reported that 20 educational institutions are currently without this service, so measures are being taken to solve it.

Ángel Domijan, director of Red de Gas, explained: “We had 24 schools with gas cut off and we have responded to four. For the rest, we are working to give them a solution as quickly as possible, through companies“.

Domijan added that “The reason for the cutoff of natural gas is that, in previous administrations, work was not done or not done as quickly as the case deserved. The problem is that current regulations are not complied with. These buildings date back a long time. Therefore, facilities that had approval at the time are now not adequate to current regulations.“.

The director also mentioned that, currently, they receive around 20 to 25 complaints daily due to weather conditions. Given this, the authorities are working to solve the problem. Meanwhile, heats are being distributed in institutions.
