Some 20 San Juan schools do not have heating due to lack of gas

This Thursday, the government of San Juan offered a press conference to address the situation of the schools without gas supply. They reported that 20 educational institutions are currently without this service, so measures are being taken to solve it.

“We had 24 schools with gas cut off and we have responded to 4. For the rest, we are working to provide a solution as quickly as possible, through companies. The reason for the cutoff of natural gas is that, in previous administrations, work was not done or not done as quickly as the case deserved. The problem is that current regulations are not complied with. These buildings date back a long time and therefore, facilities that had approval at the time are now not adequate to current regulations,” said Ariel Domijan, head of Red de Gas, at a press conference.

Currently received around 20 to 25 complaints daily due to weather conditions. Given this, the authorities are working to solve the problem. Meanwhile, heats are being distributed in institutions.

Leonardo Lucero, director of Building Survey, of the Ministry of Education, expressed in a press conference that “we are working together with people from Minor Works so that they can review, study how the buildings are and be able to solve what is the part of electrical wiring to be able to support all that amount of heaters or air conditioning.”
