Although the National Government froze gas and electricity rates for the month of July, bills for these services will be higher in the coming months, probably due to the increase in consumption during the period of low temperatures. This is why they insist on the importance of registering in the Registry of Access to Energy Subsidies (Rase) which will be extended until July 31. This registration is crucial for users to maintain or access energy subsidies, as stated by the Superintendency of Public Services (Susepu).

This registration is crucial for users to maintain or access energy subsidies, as stated by the Superintendency of Public Services (Susepu).

Registration is voluntary for all users who wish to benefit from the subsidies, regardless of whether they already have a social tariff. Those who do not complete the process before the deadline will automatically be categorized as N1 users, resulting in a significant increase in the cost of energy reflected in their next bills.

Carlos Oehler, head of Susepu, explained that the government’s objective is not to eliminate subsidies, but to redirect them towards those who really need them. “Users must verify their current categorization (N1, N2, N3) according to the income of the cohabiting family group and register accordingly on the official Rase website. Anyone who receives an electricity bill, regardless of whether or not it is in their name, has a legend on the top left that indicates the segment N1, N2, N3 (already categorized) or without segment (those who did not register), depending on the income of the cohabiting family group. It is crucial that beneficiaries register in the system to avoid possible impacts on their bills, since the cost of energy without subsidy is considerably higher,” he explained.

I also express that the N1 means higher income, N2 means income less than two Minimum Vital and Mobile Wages (Smvm) and the N3 for average income ranging from 700 thousand to 2 and a half million pesos.

To register, he explained that users must enter the website of the Energy Subsidy Access Registry (Rase); there the process is done individually, and only personal data, invoice data and the cohabiting family group are required.
